Doesn't believe
in God

Hello Dr. Mamma Love.I really care deeply for a man that I've been seeing for 6 years, but he doesn't believe in God. I'm a very strong believer and it's scriptural not to be unequally yoked. I can't share joy with this man or any sort of revelation. It really bums me out. What should I do?

I am so sorry to hear that you are in this perdictament. It is very difficult when you love someone who doesn't share your beliefs. I like you am a strong believer. Would he be willing to attend church with you because it's important to you? If he would be willing over time maybe the spirit of the Lord would work on his heart. I think because of your strong belief and his lack of it a great strain would be placed on you marriage. I believe that is why the scriptures talk about being unequally yolked. Usually I tell people to only date those who you would consider marring but you love him and it's to late for that. I think your best bet would be to talk to your minister. The truth of the matter is if my husband was not a believer in God I think because of the love I have for him against my better judgement I would still marry him and pray every night. I am not a university Doctor but this is my advice and I will be praying for you. Keep me updated.
