Don't know what
we are

I have been dating a guy for over a month now.  About our 3rd date, he said I love you (said it when he was half asleep) so didn't think much of it.  But he has said it a few times.  I don't say anything after he does and I dont' want him to think I don't like him, I just don't fall in love quickly.  I don't even know what to refer to him as (bf, guy I'm dating etc).  How do I address our "label" and why I dont' say I love you.  I don't want him to be done with me since I dont' say it to him...he knows some of my dating history not all of it and that would explain why i am slower to say it than some people


I think you are right not to say "I love you" until you actually feel it.  If he says it again you can always say, " I have a hard time saying I love you to people. I'm Sorry. you know how I feel about you."  If he says no then tell him how much you care about him.  Never say I love you unless you mean. Don't feel pressured into doing it because it will lose it's value to you. Those words will mean so much when you say them and will be so much sweeter. Some people have an easy time saying I love you. I am like you the words don't come easy so when I say them I really mean them.  As far as an address goes.  I think he considers you his girl friend but if you don't feel the same call him your date or say this is my friend ____ we're dating now.  The truth is you really don't have to say anything if you don't want to.  Good Luck!
