Be afraid; be very afraid your lovable, agreeable child has become a teen. It's a parent's worst nightmare. As a parent of a teenager you will find that there are certain rules that we as parents must abide by in order to survive. Most of us will learn the hard way. We all need a little teenager relationship advice at some point in time.
1. Never, ever stick your head out the window of the car to yell, "Here I am over here" to your child even it's pouring down rain.
2. Never ask your child how was school, it will always be awful.
3. Remember you as a parent have now lost several IQ points according to your teen. Another words your not very smart.
4. Never say did you do all your homework. The answer will always be yes.
5. At sporting events never yell at the ref. or yell directions to your child.
<6. Never take your teen to the grocery store or you'll end up broke.
7. Remember that your teen will never hear you so be sure you are making eye contact.
8. When asking your teens to bring grocery be sure you double check to make sure they brought it all in.
9. Take your teen to church with you. You'll both need it.
10. Try to remember how cute they were when they were small and check on them at night so you can see their beautiful face. Oh and to make sure they are still in their bed.
11. Remember your teenager will eat all your food. Even the stuff you thought you hid.
12. Just a minute means I will be waiting and hoping that you forget.
13. Try not to go into their room. You may get lost.
14 Mood swings are normal. Just avoid them in the down swing or they will stab you in the back.
15. Remember that your teen will often have the opposite opinion then yours.
16. Be sure you have a couple drinks and a couple of Tylenol before you take your teen shopping.
17. Make sure you get extra life insurance before you get in the car with them.
18. Remember you see groups of teens because it is the collective brains that make a whole. That's why they always do the same thing. So be careful of whom your teen is hanging out with.
19. This is the key you are a dictatorship not a democracy. They will try to tell you differently.
20. Keep your sense of humor or you will be crying a lot.
21. Teens think money if free so keep an eye on how much you give or you'll be broke.
