1. Your not ready to date if your constantly talking about your ex and the divorce.  When the conversation keeps coming up how much love stinks or ex is a jerk it's not time to go out yet.  Nothing is more uncomfortable then being with someone who is talking about someone they don't like.

2. Your not ready if you have pictures of your ex in the bedroom next to your bed or framed. Yes, this is a no brainer. If you need to see him or her your not ready!

3. Your not ready if you constantly are comparing your ex to your date and not just looking at qualities you.  You have to see that person separate from other people, an individual.

4. Your not ready if you still cry over the whole divorce. This is a dead give away.


5. You fantasize about running your ex over with a semi truck. Hmmm defenately not ready.

6. If you feel guilty about going out with someone else. You feel like your cheating.

Most people will not marry the men or women they date in the first year after divorce. So, no need to worry.


7. If you haven't had time to be single and alone and when you are you are happy.  Content to be by yourself. This is so important.


8.  When the children aren't ready for you to date.  Give them time to grieve then they will get use to the idea but don't bring dates home to meet the kids unless they are going to be staying for awhile.
 

9.  when you think you can't live alone. You don't want to have this be the reason you marry or live with someone or your relationship is doomed.


10  When you don't want to but everyone keeps telling you that you need to.  You don't need to you'll know when you are ready no one else can tell you.


11. You are not ready if you hear of love song on the radio and think of your ex.


12. Your not ready to date again if your are thinking of ways to make your ex suffer.
 It can be fun to think of things but it does mean your not ready.

13  If you have hired a hit man to take out your ex your not ready.


14 If you are still accidentially buying his or her favorite things your not ready.


15. Your not ready to date if you are always avoiding your ex's phone calls and try to hide from them in public.


16 If your still trying to get back your stuff your not ready. It means things aren't settled.


17 If your hoping your ex dies or celebrate in their bad luck. Try not to pray for this.


18. Your not ready to date if you have to think about whether or not your ready. You'll just know.


19. Your not ready to date if you want to date because your afraid to be alone.


20 Your not ready to date if you haven't had time to be alone.  Everyone needs to have some time alone. Time to find out who you are and who you want to be.


21 Your not ready to date if your just trying to find someone to be there in the house to help you.


22.Your not ready to date if you got some wonderful news and the first person you think about telling is your ex.


23. Your not ready to date if you sometimes think about getting back together or wonder if that is possible.


24. Your not ready to date if the divorce is not final.


Don't feel you have to date just because you are single.  It's ok to be single and alone. Don't let anyone tell you different.  One must know who they are and where they want to be before they bring someone else into their lives. Enjoy your time alone and explore the things you haven't been able to do.  Do things that you have often thought you would like to do but never had the chance to. This is the time to do these things.

Remember life goes on and this is not the end. Love will find you in time.

Remember to keep an eye on the kids and see how they react to you seeing someone else. We know they might be slightly distubed by it but if they are devestated then it would probably be a good idea to take them to couseling and wait a little while until they are ready.
