Happiness comes from with in you. Webster defines happiness as a state of mind or feeling characterized by contentment, love, satisfaction, pleasure, or joy. Many biologist, psychologist, religious leaders and philosophers have striven to define happiness and identify its sources. But, it different among cultures as well as individual people. happiness will make your relationships better.  You can become a better wife or husband, a better girlfriend or boyfriend. You can be a better friend and more productive in life.

Let me tell you something, you are the only person responsible for your happiness. No one else. But the truth is if you are miserable every one around you will be become miserable. When picking who to be around you often will find your self wanting to be with people who are happy. studies show that happiness doesn’t make people complacent or self-centered. Rather, happier people are more likely to volunteer, to give away money, to persist in problem-solving, to help others, and to be friendly. So the question you need to ask your self is what makes you happy. Are there people you are around you that make you happy? Are there people in your life who make you unhappy?

When I say that you are responsible for your happiness and no one else it doesn’t mean that other people don’t affect how we feel or how our days go. They do influence us. Are we surrounding ourselves with people who make us happy? Or are we constantly putting ourselves around people who bring us down? Are we constantly having to walk on egg shells around someone? Constantly worried we will upset them? Happier people have better relationships. Being happy makes people more interested in being your friend. When we are happy, we behave in certain ways that make people enjoy being around us more. The friends we already have will be more likely to stick with us when the chips are down if the chips aren’t always down.

Happiness is not just a life lived by getting as many moments of pleasure we can get. On the contrary, happiness is a long lasting enduring enjoyment of life, it is being in love with living. It is your reward for achieving good character and personal rational value in life. Some important values that are a productive are your church, family and careers. Being happy doesn’t mean that everything is perfect. It merely means that you’ve decided to look beyond the imperfections. We have a tendency to forget that happiness doesn’t come as a result of getting something we don’t have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have. Always remember that money doesn’t buy us happiness. Many times we forget this and think if only we had more money we would be happy.

Every night, reflect on the things that went well that day. I am often telling you that you need to keep a journal of goals. These goals should reflect the things that make us happy. In addition to the journal you are writing about goals it is important that you take the time and remember what you are thankful for and remember the things that make you happy.

Smile a lot when you smile it will make you feel better and everyone around you feel better. Laugh often laughter heals the soul.

William Fry, M.D., professor of psychiatry at Stanford University Medical School and expert on health and laughter, reports the average kindergarten student laughs 300 times a day. Yet, adults average just 17 laughs a day. Why is there a difference? Are we too uptight, too tense? Do we take life too seriously? We don't stop laughing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop laughing. So, if we want to fly like the angels and share in their happiness, we'll have to follow their example and take ourselves lightly.

Humor isn't just about telling jokes; it's the way we view the world. We need to be able to laugh about our mistakes and pain. Even when we are taking things seriously we need to laugh.

Laughter dissolves tension, stress, anxiety, irritation, anger, grief, and depression. Like crying, laughter will lower inhibitions, allowing the release of pent-up emotions. After a hearty bout of laughter, you will experience a sense of well-being. After all, if you can laugh at it, you can live with it. Remember, a person without a sense of humor is like a car without shock absorbers. You need it to get through life and become a happier person. Laughter reduces pain by releasing endorphins that are more potent than equivalent amounts of morphine. Laughter leads to happiness.
